Not a “cake person”? Here’s what to do instead

“I’m not a cake person.” I hear it all the time! And listen, you don’t HAVE to be! At the end of the day I just want you to be happy on your wedding day!  I don’t want you to have a care in the world. ESPECIALLY when it comes to dessert. It’s supposed to be fun after all! So that is why we made sure to give Fatima and Andy the wedding cake of their dreams! Even if it was less cake… and more donuts!

Fatima and Andy really wanted their wedding cake dessert to be donuts. Which I think is so fun and delicious. They ALSO really wanted to make sure to get the quintessential cake to cut for the cake cutting moment in order to get pictures just like these. Where some people want a grandiose 6 tier cake, a lot if people are in love with a small cake to cut. This 3 tier tiny babe was perfect for them. It said “wedding” while also saying “Fatima and Andy” which is the most important part. It was so fun to play with and arrange the donuts on the cake the way I would normally arrange fresh flowers on it!

The cake was a brown butter cake and the rich donuts complimented it perfectly! The head table and family members were to be fed cake, while the rest of the guests we able to help themselves to the donut wall! I love to encourage people to AT LEAST get a cake to cut for pictures. This cake cutting moment, and these pictures are the playful and loving moments you will cherish forever!

Fatima and Andy’s photographer, Renae, owner of City Savvy Imaging, did an incredible job capturing their ADORABLE cake cutting moment. You can feel the joy and happiness!

Working with Renae is always a dream. I asked Renae what she took away from this couple and their beautiful wedding and she said, “Andy & Fatima's wedding was so memorable to me because we formed such an awesome friendship during the course of their planning. Their day was full of the genuine emotion of joy, and there was no holding that back in every part of the day. Fatima's sense of tasteful style was chic, glamorous & timeless and that reflected in all the decor and details of the wedding. Andy & Fatima are caring people and it was clear on their day that they are loved by so many. "

You can trust Renae to take shots at the exact right moment, conveying the exact right emotion, with expert lighting and composition. Not only is she makin’ my cakes look like heaven, look at this ballroom! Look at this couple! Look at THAT BRIDE!
